When is Amazon Prime Day 2024? Here's everything you need to know
Prime Day 2024 dates and rumoured deals across health and fitness
Amazon Prime Day is just a matter of weeks away and once again it promises to be one of the biggest shopping events of the year. Yes, that's right, the retail giant has officially announced that the members-only sale will be taking place once again this July, with mega deals across almost every shopping category.
Amazon Prime Day first launched in 2015 and nine years later, it's one of the most hotly anticipated shopping events of the year (after Black Friday and Cyber Monday, of course). During this mega savings events, Amazon slashes its prices across a huge range of products. So, if you've had your eye on Garmin running watch, a new pair of running headphones or even your very own home treadmill, this is the best time to buy.
As experts when it comes to covering savings events, we’re here to keep you up to date on everything you need to know — from dates to rumoured deals to watch across your favourite health and fitness products.
When is Amazon Prime Day 2024?
So far, all Amazon has announced is that Prime Day will be happening in July 2024. However, that doesn't stop us from making predictions about the exact dates based off previous years and our experience covering shopping events online.
Prime Day 2023 was a two-day event with deals dropping at midnight on the morning of July 11 and finishing at midnight on July 12. We’d expect Prime Day 2024 to run across two-days as well, most likely on a Tuesday and Wednesday, and in the second or third week of the month. With this in mind, we’d bet good money on Prime Day 2024 landing on either 9-10 July or 16-17 July. Watch this space for updates.
How to sign up to Amazon Prime
Amazon Prime Day is an exclusive deals event for Prime Members only, so if you want to take advantage of the savings, you'll need to sign up for a membership beforehand.
In the UK, Amazon Prime membership costs £8.99/month or £95/year. This gains you access to premium delivery options including next-day and named-day services, as well as Prime Video.
Alternatively, if you've never had a Prime subscription before, you can sign up to the free 30-day trial. If you choose this option, we'd recommend doing it just before the event kicks off. If it's been over 12-months since your last free trial, you may be eligible for another.
Is Prime Day two times a year?
Amazon has been treating us in recent years, holding extra savings events alongside its main Prime Day event in July. In October 2022 and 2023, the retailer held a second savings event for its members, known as the Prime Early Access Sale. And earlier in March 2024, the Amazon Spring Sale took place over five days.
However, the biggest and best savings tend to be reserved for mid-summer — trust us, we've been covering these events for years and we always see the lowest prices on running watches, sports gels and more in July.
Amazon Prime Day vs Black Friday
Black Friday is arguably the biggest shopping event of the year. This year it falls on 29 November (the day after Thanksgiving in the US) with a hole host of retailers (not just Amazon) dropping their prices. While Amazon does take part in the Black Friday sales, over the past few years we've found that prices tend to be slightly lower over Prime Day.
